Fire in Mexico City Metro Caused by Short Circuit

The Mexico City Metro reported that a fire at Salto del Agua station on Line 1 was caused by a short circuit. This incident occurred after several hours without an official statement. According to the transport system, the incident was caused by an object on the tracks that, upon coming into contact with the moving train, generated a short circuit and the subsequent fire that alarmed users. Visual material shows an orange glow in the tunnel background, accompanied by a slight column of smoke, suggesting a possible electrical failure or short circuit on the tracks. Users reacted immediately, moving away from the risk point amidst a confusing atmosphere, although no injuries have been officially reported so far. Metro security personnel, identified by their reflective vests, were seen directing passengers and moving towards the incident area to contain the situation. The images also show part of the renovated infrastructure of Line 1, including glass screens and platform doors, indicating the incident occurred in one of the recently modernized stations. According to information from N+, at least three people suffered nervous breakdowns after the incident, although no serious injuries were reported.
